What started as 36 works later grew to include a total of 46 images, containing some of the most recognizable works Hokusai ever designed. It was published c. 1830–1832. The Mannen Bridge is monumentally depicted on the foreground with its harmonious wooden arch. Mount Fuji is charmingly framed under the bridge and seen on the far distance. Some travelers are crossing through it while some fishing boats navigate along the river below. Indeed this is the meeting place between the Onagi River that flows into the Sumida River visible in the middle distance, it must have been an important scenic spot of the old Edo. The composition borrows western perspective principles where objects decrease in size as they recede in the distance. This particular print is a post-war reproduction by Takamizawa company.
