Description: Fan print depicting a young woman under a heavy night rain, trying to protect the paper lantern she is carrying with her umbrella.

We can notice some realistic and fresh details such as the damp wisps of hair at the side of the girl's head giving the print a note of vitality. The nice blue patterns of her kimono give a graphic touch to the whole design.

The fan form of the print is not common as this kind of print was meant to be used and not to be kept, and required special ingenuity on the part of the designer to use the space effectively ...

This print is a post-war reproduction by the Adachi Company.
