Description: This print is from the "Famous Places in the Eastern Capital" (Tôto meisho) series by Hiroshige. The original print was made in the 1830s, although this particular print is a post-war reproduction.

Tsukudo-jima was a small island at the mouth of the Sumida River and was a fishing village during the Edo period. The composition depicts more than a dozen sail masts in the foreground, with Tsukuda Island seen between them, a crescent moon in the sky, and a cuckoo crossing in front of it.
