Description: This is the Tanseisha version of one of a group of well-known Goyo designs produced in the mid-Showa period (most of them in the 1980s). (The Tanseisha Company also made a version of this same design).

In this print, a maiko (舞妓), apprentice geisha, is applying color to her lips. It's depicting the young woman delicately - especially her hair and hair ornament expression are so detailed. The background to this one is done with pale pink mica.
