Description: The anecdote of "Ama no Tama-tori (The Woman Diver who gets the Ball [from the Dragons])", in which a woman diver goes to the dragon's palace to retrieve a treasure ball that was stolen by the dragon god, is depicted in various printings, but this work by Kuniyoshi is the most famous. As nicknamed "Kuniyoshi of Musha-e (Ukiyo-e prints of warriors)", he depicted this painting which is filled with dynamic motions of escaping ama and chasing dragon, using the unique vertical composition of the waves.
