He depicts a geisha commuting to a banquet room at night, escorted by a woman. The scenery is full of quaint atmosphere; the red light from the lantern spreading into the dark night is depicted in a method very unusual for the ukiyo-e era ... it almost seems more like a modern shin-hanga print. This particular print is a post-war reproduction by Yamada Shoin.
