Description: This print is from the series “Thoughts Reflected in a Mirror”.

It depicts a full-length portrait of a young beauty, who just came back from her bath. The transparency of her robe is beautifully rendered. A young girl is handing her a letter, and the woman seems surprised to receive this sudden message at this moment, just after her bath, is there some kind of emergency? It is interesting how both of the figure’s feet are very expressive as their toes are curled up.

The overall design presents a very smooth and harmonious color palette all in blue, pale green, and coral red.

Interesting to notice that the publisher's seal in the lower part of the print is also drawn on the shoji door of the bath in the mirror.

This particular print is a post-war reproduction by Yuyudo.
