Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketHot Spring InnSize: 47.5cm by 29.0cm (18.70 in by 11.42 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [XL] ? Designer: Hashiguchi Goyo Era: Mid Showa | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: It portrays a young beautiful woman from her waist up leaning on a railing fence. She is wearing a white kimono with dark leaf patterns and a gold ring with a red stone. She is gracefully taking one hand to her face and the other is delicately posed on the fence in a thoughtful and contemplative pose. There is some sensuality in this portrait as her robe delicately reveals one part of her neck. It is interesting and quite charming how the whole figure is depicted all in white, the skin and the clothes together, this makes the red of her lips and belt stand out in an elegant way. The same effect happens with her golden hair pin which contrasts beautifully against the black of her hair. The foliage with pink flowers behind gives the whole scene a touch of color and joy. The original print was a posthumous edition circa 1922 by Taguchi Kitsumatsu and this print is a post-war reproduction produced by Tansei-sha.
