Designer: Hiroshige / Eisen Era: Post-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: ¥ 280,000$ 2089.00£ 1690.00€ 1955.00   Description: "The 69 Stations of the Kiso Kaidō" is a series of ukiyoe woodblock prints designed by Keisai Eisen and Utagawa Hiroshige around 1835-1837. It consists of a total of 70 prints of 69 stops along the Nakasendo route between Tokyo and Kyoto. You can see the entire series' images on this great website. It is rare for us to have this massive series in original nishiki-ban size as a complete set in decent condition. The set contains a total of 70 prints: 69 post stations and Nihonbashi. This reproduction set was published by the Nihon Hanga Kenkyujo during the Showa period (after 1960). The dimensions listed above are for each print. The outer box size is 50 x 36 x 7.5cm.
Special Shipping Notice Warning: this set is massive, weighing in at 11 kg (approx. 25 lbs), and cannot be shipped at the ‘economy’ level in our shopping cart, so we have priced it to include shipping at the EMS express level (including insurance) to most common destinations (North America, Europe, Asia). Some of the prints show slight foxing, creases, or some black dots like No. 39: Agematsu which has some black dots in the waterfall area. It comes with 2 white cloth bound outer cases, a descriptive pamphlet in Japanse. The outer cases have foxing.  Each print is loose and set on a paper mat.  Here are some examples of the prints: Kōnosu: Distant view of Fuji at Fukiage (Eisen),  Fukaya Station (Eisen),  Iwamurata (Eisen),  Seba (Hiroshige),  Ōi (Hiroshige),  Hosokute (Hiroshige) - this print has slight foxing,  Agematsu (Hiroshige) - this print has small black spots in the waterfall,  Miyanokoshi, and  the backside of the print. Some prints have a red stamp on them meaning, the first print.  Midono (Hiroshige) - this print has slight foxing,  Unuma Station （Eisen) - this print has slight foxing,  Nojiri (Eisen) - this print has slight creases.
