Both volumes contain 6 pairs of prints (plus a cover print on the second volume), all designed by Utagawa Toyohiro. The first volume goes from January to June and the second from June to December. Each spread depicts each month’s popular celebrations associated with specific temples or shrines and how life was in the city of Edo. A text and description in Japanese follow the prints.
