Description: This print, from Hiroshige's "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo" series (which, despite its name, contains 118 prints), captures a Paulownia Plantation in Akasaka during a heavy evening downpour. The rain is depicted as a sheer curtain of vertical lines, veiling the figures in the scene. The lush green foreground stands out sharply against the background, which features atmospheric gradations of grays.

There are slight foxing spots on the upper right part and right to the signature on this print.
