Description: A Yoshida Toshi original print from the series of 12 "Kacho Mokuhanga" (flower and bird woodblock prints), depicting birds and flowers for each month of the year.

The series was commissioned by the Franklin Mint in the early 1980s. It is well known that Yoshida issued landscape and bird designs over in the US through them, but he also did a smaller-scale calendar series with their Japanese branch, for the local market, and this is from that series.

They were sold in a 'limited edition' (quantity unspecified) with a certificate of authenticity, signed, and sealed in a wooden frame with an acrylic cover.

This print for the month of December depicts two Eurasian bullfinches on a branch of a camellia bush, they are exchanging glances, what a romantic place for a meeting point!

This particular item is not framed. This print is toned overall, and has foxing mostly on the margins. Also, there are a few traces of glue removal on the backside.
