Description: Pictures of beautiful women are an extremely popular genre of woodblock prints and although there is an almost immeasurable stream of prints depicting the courtesans of the time, it is somewhat rare to come across a piece that shows them in full ceremonial dress.

This print shows the Courtesan Miyabito of Ogiya at somewhat of a formal event. Here attention is split between the attractiveness of the fabric and complemented by the allure of the courtesan. In the square cartouche credit is given to her two attendants Tsubaki and Shirabe.

This print is a post-war reproduction by the Adachi Company.
