This design is from a set of 5 prints, depicting courtesans of the northern quarter, showing different styles of women. It depicts a large head portrait of a courtesan holding a roll of white cloth (or paper). Elegantly styled with her hair pulled back and decorated, her red lips slightly open with a joyful expression, her eyes looking in one direction make us think that she is probably waiting for nice company ...
