Description: The actors Nakajima Wadaemon and Nakamura Konozō are presented here in the roles of Bōdara no Chōzaemon and the boat-keeper Kanagawaya no Gon respectively, characters from the play Katakiuchi Noriyaibanashi. Kanagawaya no Gon leads Bōdara no Chōzaemon through the pleasure district with a lantern in-hand in the illustration. The MET holds an early impression of the portrait.

There is a slight crease at the bottom of this print.
