Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketHanging Cloud Bridge at Gyodo-san![]() Size: 27.5cm by 40.0cm (10.83 in by 15.75 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [L] ? Designer: Katsushika Hokusai Era: Post-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: ![]() Description: This print is from "Famous Places of the Province", published by Kaiseisha in 1981. It consists of 19 prints from two series by Katsushika Hokusai: 11 prints from "Famous Bridges in the Provinces" and 8 prints from "A Tour of Waterfalls". In another dramatic scene by Hokusai, a wooden bridge is depicted connecting two temples, one perched precariously on a large piece of rock jutting up from the heavy mist. There are no human figures in the print, and the scene seems so magical that one can imagine a dragon or mythological creature preparing to emerge from the clouds below. ![]() ![]() Browse thumbnail pages of various selections from the catalogue ...
