It seems to be a hot summer day in the middle of the Main Street of Edo in the Nihonbashi district. Everybody is trying to hide from the sun behind their parasols or hats. A group of dancers is under a big parasol followed by a woman holding a samisen (Japanese cord instrument). Some others are chatting, bringing sake on trays, or selling fruits. We can actually hear and feel the bustle of the crowd ... This particular print is a post-war reproduction from the Yamada Shoin Company. There are a few small marks on this print.
