Description: From the series "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo (1856-1858) which actually contains 118 total prints, in full vertical format of classic Hiroshige landscapes.

It is a starry night, a geisha is walking by the bank of the river under the dark sky. The tiny points of starlight are mirroring on the water which gives this scene a note of mystery and shimmer.

Hiroshige used a charming palette of black, navy blue, and red like the kimono the geisha is wearing, which really adds a note of elegance to the whole print.

This particular print is a post-war reproduction from the Yamada Shoin Company.
