Description: From the series "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo (1856-1858) which actually contains 118 total prints, in full vertical format of classic Hiroshige landscapes.

The beautiful pink and blue gradation of the sky tells us that the sun begins to set near Mikawashima. Two red-crowned cranes are the protagonists of the scene. One is about to land to join another one that seems to be waiting for him below in a marsh. A farmer walks home along the rice fields, balancing a yoke on his shoulder. We can notice the stunning embossed detail on the feathers of the cranes.

This particular print is a post-war reproduction from the Yamada Shoin Company.
