The beautiful pink and blue gradation of the sky tells us that the sun begins to set near Mikawashima. Two red-crowned cranes are the protagonists of the scene. One is about to land to join another one that seems to be waiting for him below in a marsh. A farmer walks home along the rice fields, balancing a yoke on his shoulder. We can notice the stunning embossed detail on the feathers of the cranes. This particular print is a post-war reproduction from the Yamada Shoin Company.
