Description: This print is from "Famous Places of the Province", published by Kaiseisha in 1981. It consists of 19 prints from two series by Katsushika Hokusai: 11 prints from "Famous Bridges in the Provinces" and 8 prints from "A Tour of Waterfalls". The prints are slightly larger than o-ban prints, giving them a more powerful impression.

Here we see Yahagi Bridge, the longest bridge on the Tōkaidō postal route, thronged with travelers. The river has almost completely dried up, allowing samurai to practice archery on the mudflats. The name and address of the original publisher of this print can be seen on the umbrellas under the bridge, and long sheets of handmade paper are shown drying in the breeze to the left of the umbrellas.
