Designer: Kitagawa Utamaro Era: Taisho | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This is a modified reproduction of "On Top and Beneath Ryōgoku Bridge" (両国橋上下), originally a set of six prints designed by Utamaro and published in c. 1795–96. The scenery of a summer trip along the Sumida River is arranged in two layers. Most of the people depicted are women, with geisha and noble women watching the water flow from the bridge with folding fans and parasols, while other groups are on the boats having a party. There are a few slight foxing spots on these prints. Also, the top edge of the top sheet is a little worn and there are a few traces of glue removal on the backside.
