Designer: Hashiguchi Goyo Era: Mid Showa | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This print is a reproduction from the 1980s by the Yuyudo company. This image was published by Goyo himself, hiring his own carver and printer. It is thought that he was inspired by the environment when he traveled to Yabakei in Oita Prefecture in 1910. He is most well known for his Bijin-ga (beautiful women), but produced a few landscapes too. the rain here is particularly beautifully depicted, and there is an interesting balance between the vivid colors of the foreground and the pale colors of the background. The print is quite large - a 'double-oban'. This print has a few small foxing spots. Also, there are a few black marks on the backside.
