Description: This print is included in a set of 50 prints called "Ukiyo Ekagami," a collection of various artists and genres, which was probably a reproduction in the pre-war period.

This print depicts a group of fishermen inside a boat struggling to row it through the waves that are splashing against Choshi Bay. They are pulling their oars with all their strength and trying to get out from the shore and go farther through the sea.

Farther away behind, two other boats are anchored out in a more serene bay with calm water and inexistent waves, they are dropping out their nets in order to catch some bonito.

Interesting how the shore is full of giant rocks in particular the one in the front who has a tunnel shape. Its circular form invites the viewer to go see deeper through it as if it was encircling and pointing out some details about what is going on with the persons strolling on the beach.

All this landscape is under a sky where the clouds have an interesting “smokey-shape” style. The blue gradation of this sky has a very beautiful continuation with all the blue of the ocean.

This print has a few chiri (mulberry bark scraps) and a few small foxing spots.
