Description: This is a reproduction of a design from one of Hokusai's late print series: 'One Hundred Poems Explained by the Nurse', and represents the poet Ariwara no Narihira. Only a couple of dozen designs were published before the series was cancelled for some reason.

The publisher 'O-Edo Mokuhansha' began creating reproductions of this series in the immediate post-war period, but stopped after issuing four of them.

Seems to be a jinx on this particular series!

This print has the appearance of ‘aged’ prints - furubi. There are a few slight creases at the top left corner. Also, there is a trace of glue removal on the backside.
