Designer: Kabukido Enkyo Era: Pre-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This print is included in a set of 50 prints called "Ukiyo Ekagami," a collection of various artists and genres, which was probably a reproduction in the pre-war period. This bust portrait depicts the kabuki actor Ichikawa Yaozo III as Umeomaru. The designer focuses on the face gesture, which allows us to observe the great facial expression. The three concentric rice measure crest of the Ichikawa Danjuro line of actors shown on his shoulder. The red lines of the makeup are framing his face in a very interesting and graphic way. This red color of the makeup and the flower pattern of his kimono highlight the rest of the muted color palette of grays and blacks. There is some misregistration on this print.
