Description: This print is included in a set of 50 prints called "Ukiyo Ekagami," a collection of various artists and genres, which was probably a reproduction in the pre-war period.

This print depicts the portrait of the painter/writer Santo Kyoden. He is smiling and holding a pipe while sitting in front of a low table set with an ink stone, brush, and a blank fan. What is he preparing to write on it?

The discrete tones of grays, blacks, and whites surely become more joyful thanks to the contrast with the orange color of the pipe and the table highlighting the whole palette in an elegant way.

This print is toned a little and has slight foxing spots.
