Description: This print is from the series, 日本木版画粋 (Masterpieces of Japanese Woodblock Prints), a collection of reproductions of various themes and designs published around 1924. The print quality is excellent (for most of the prints) and there are almost no traces of baren on the back, suggesting that they may have been at least partially machine printed or produced using collotype printing.

This print is one of a series "Flowers and Birds through Four Seasons", Hoitsu shows wonderful skill in producing a rich vivacious color composition and depicting poppy and hydrangea elegantly.

It comes with a description sheet in English and Japanese.
