Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketNunozarashi Dance![]() Size: 19.5cm by 30.0cm (7.68 in by 11.81 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [L] ? Designer: Hanabusa Itcho Era: Taisho | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: ![]() Description: This print is from the series, 日本木版画粋 (Masterpieces of Japanese Woodblock Prints), a collection of reproductions of various themes and designs published around 1924. The print quality is excellent (for most of the prints) and there are almost no traces of baren on the back, suggesting that they may have been at least partially machine printed or produced using collotype printing. The print depicts a woman wearing a red kimono and holding a fan, who is performing a Nunozarashi (washing cloth with water) dance waving a long white cloth through the air. Three musicians dressed in vivid costumes and with Edo-style expressions are playing music on the side admiring her dance steps. The cloth is gracefully floating and undulating as she moves tying together and dominating the overall composition. ![]() Browse thumbnail pages of various selections from the catalogue ...
