Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketBird and Plum Blossoms![]() Size: 38.0cm by 17.5cm (14.96 in by 6.89 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [L] ? Designer: Ando Hiroshige Era: Post-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: ![]() Description: There are many Hiroshige tanzaku-ban prints available (a single sheet of washi cut into four strips vertically), but this mitsugiri-ban (a single sheet cut into thirds, resulting in a wider print), is more rare. The bird in this image is sometimes described as an onaga-dori, a type of rooster, but we are really not so sure about that attribution ... [Update: A lady in Zurich, apparently quite knowledgeable about bird species, tells us, "This is hands-down a red-billed blue magpie. "] This print is published by Adachi. There are a few foxing spots at the right edge and a small chiri (mulberry bark scraps) at the upper part of this print. ![]() ![]() Browse thumbnail pages of various selections from the catalogue ...
