Description: In this print, Goyo depicts the Sanjo Bridge in Kyoto under the snow. This bridge is well known as a place that served as the ending location of two of the “Five Routes” that connected the capital Edo with the outer provinces during the Edo period: Nakasendō and the Tōkaido roads.

In this wintertime landscape image, some travelers are crossing the bridge using an umbrella to fight against the cold wind. They are heading up to the city, which is on the other side, and under the snow that is still falling from a dark sky. In the middle, there is one building that stands out and has two towers on each side, maybe an administrative public office. The bridge is resting on six groups of four piles each one which gives him a light appearance.

The blue "bokashi" on the Kamo river gives a beautiful contrast to the print, we can also appreciate the reflections of the city as well as some snowflakes landing on it.

In the background, the mountains surrounding the city give it a peaceful look as if while observing this landscape we could know that silence is king.

In the right margin, there are the seals of the publisher Tanseisha, the printer Sasaki (it could be Yoyogi), the carver Uetani as well as Goyo's signature and seal, and the original date within the image area.

There is a blue mark at the bottom left corner of this print.
