Description: This print is from a set "Beauties by Three Great Artists" which consists of 20 reproduction prints by three major beauties designers of the Edo period: Hiroshige, Kunisada, and Eisen, published by Yuyudo in 1975.

This print shows a woman holding a cat high in the air. She is also holding a stick with her mouth, maybe she was writing or putting makeup on and she needed to take a pause so she decided to play with her cat by lifting it with both hands.

Her burgundy kimono is loosely wrapped around her with some fabric trailing on the floor. Her obi is black and it matches the makeup stand next to her. Here the palette of wine, reds, and burgundy colors dominate the scene, there is also black, white, and beige to contrast and to add elegance to the whole print.

A tea bowl is on the floor and an inset in the form of a hand mirror is on the upper left side, it shows a servant bringing a bowl of tea to another woman that seems to be eating because she is sitting in front of a small table holding some other dishes. Maybe this mirror is showing some of the thoughts that our principal character is wishing for.
