Description: This is an unusual item in our Flea Market catalogue - a freshly made print, but not by us here at Mokuhankan. One of the traditional printers living and working in Tokyo for many years, Mr. Tsutomu Mitamura, has decided to try his hand at issuing some print reproductions himself.

The "Kajikazawa" 石班沢 in the title is thought to be a misprint of 石斑沢 and is generally considered to be 鰍沢 near the Fujikawa River. The Kajikazawa is known as a rapid where the Kamanashi River and the Fuefuki River converge, and the picture is depicted as if waves were crashing violently on the seashore. On the rocks protruding from the surface of the river, fishermen and their children are seen casting nets, and in the background, only the mist flowing in multiple directions and the hazy, slight shape of Urafuji are depicted.

The contrast between the seemingly stationary figures and the violent water flow and slowly moving fog on the surface is a masterpiece that beautifully combines the magnificent natural atmosphere without any sense of incongruity.

The dark indigo in the sky is beautifully blurred in a thin line. The use of many blurs makes this an elaborate work, and although it is reduced in size, it is still a very impressive piece of artwork.
