Designer: Ando Hiroshige Era: Taisho | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: "The 69 Stations of the Kiso Kaidō" is a series of ukiyoe woodblock prints created by Keisai Eisen and Utagawa Hiroshige around 1835-1837. It consists of a total of 70 prints of 69 stops along the Nakasendo route between Tokyo and Kyoto. This Suhara-juku was the thirty-ninth of the sixty-nine stations of the Nakasendō. In the sudden rain, the rearview depicts travelers hurriedly running along the road, while the foreground shows people fleeing to a wayside shrine among the cedar trees. This print is a reproduction from the Taisho period (1912-1926). This print has toning, a few spots, and a few marks but retains a very rich color.
