It means that Hokusai designed it more than 20 years before Hiroshige's famous Hoeido edition, which was published around 1834. This print depicts the ninth station, Oiso. The giant stone that travelers look up to has a carving of "Toragaishi" (Tiger-child Stone). It is related to the tiger of Oiso in "The tale of Soga" and is still enshrined at Yondaiji Temple in Oiso, Kanagawa Prefecture. This print has toning especially at the bottom.
