Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketContemporary Women Series: TeahouseSize: 40.0cm by 26.5cm (15.75 in by 10.43 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [L] ? Designer: Keisai Eisen Era: Post-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This is one of Eisen's excellent series of beautiful women paintings, 'Imayou Mime Kurabe' (Competition Among Today's Beautiful Women). The artist has marked the character 泉 (izumi) and various types of women in a circle, and depicted the corresponding women in the painting. This print captures well the movement of the woman at the teahouse, holding a tray in her right hand and a package of face powder in her left. This is almost certainly an Edo-era example of 'product placement' ... This particular print is a post-war reproduction by Yamada Shoin. Printer: Hoshino / Carver: Ito (This is Mr. Susumu Ito, who deeply influenced Dave. The YouTube video featuring Ito-san became one of the most viewed on his channel ...) There is a slight crease at the upper right edge of this print. Browse thumbnail pages of various selections from the catalogue ...
