Description: A Yoshida Toshi original print from the series of 12 "Kacho Mokuhanga" (flower and bird woodblock prints), depicting birds and flowers for each month of the year.

The series was commissioned by the Franklin Mint in the early 1980s. It is well known that Yoshida issued landscape and bird designs over in the US through them, but he also did a smaller-scale calendar series with their Japanese branch, for the local market, and this is from that series.

They were sold in a 'limited edition' (quantity unspecified) with a certificate of authenticity, signed, and sealed in a wooden frame with an acrylic cover.

This print titled "Kisaragi (traditional name for February) - Red Plum and Bush Warbler" depicts them daintily in the lingering cold month as if it embodies a Japanese proverb, 'plum blossoms and bush warbler', which is a metaphor for a beautifully harmonious combination.

The displayed dimension is the print size and the frame outer size is 31.5 x 24 x 1.5 cm.


There are a few scratches on the frame but it's in good condition overall.
