Designer: Shubun Era: Post-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This is one of the "Selected Masterpieces of Japanese Ink Brush Painting" published by Tanseisha probably in the 1970s or 1980s. The original ink brush paintings, which express the depth of nature in a world of limited ink colors, were turned into woodblock prints with 85 to 90 impressions by master printers using antique Nara ink (black, blue, and brown). This image, said to have been painted at the request of Zen monks, captures the scenic and tranquil atmosphere of nature well. The original painting of this print is a national treasure. Note: it may be hard to tell from the web page, but this print is large - almost double the O-ban size. Please check the dimension indicated at the top. There us a slight crease at the bottom right corner of this print. Browse thumbnail pages of various selections from the catalogue ...
