Designer: Ando Hiroshige Era: Early Showa | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This print is from the set 'Kacho Fugetsu (Beauties of Nature)' which consists of 20 Hiroshige design prints in ōtanzaku format published by Yuyudo in the 1970s, produced by the best engravers and printers at that time. Caught in mid-flight by Hiroshige's 'strobe' flash, a pair of sparrows cavort near a snow-covered camellia tree. The print uses karazuri on the sparrows' wings. The poem at the upper right of the print reads, "Crows and kites contend for food; sparrows contend for the nest. The isolated existence (of the tree) by the pond is subject to frequent wind and snow". There is a small spot near the right flower.
