Description: Various reproductions of "The 53 Stations of the Tokaido" have been published, and this is from a set consists of 55 medium-size prints published by Yuyudo probably in the late 1960s. What makes this set remarkable is that it comes with black-and-white photographs of the same locations as the prints! The description is in Japanese, but if you just compare with the landscape Hiroshige painted more than 100 years earlier (original was firstly published in 1833) is truly fascinating. Kaoru Kikuhara, who took the photographs and wrote the text, appears to be a Tokaido enthusiast, and took another photograph of the same place about 30 years later, publishing "Accurate Photos [in 1966 & 1996] Tell You Very Interesting Changes with Hiroshige's Ukiyoe [in 1833] of the Tokaido 53 Stages" in 1997.

The displayed dimension is each print size. Each print is lightly glued to a mat holder, and two prints are set in a case.
