Description: From the set, Meisho Hakkei (Eight Sights at Scenic Spots), published around 1830-1844. It shows sights at celebrated places in the provinces of Musashi, Sagami, and Suruga (the present Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Shizuoka Prefectures).

The foreground shows the sight of Mt. Oyama under heavy rain coming from the very dark sky. It is interesting that the rain is presented in a stripped manner very geometrical and with a palette alternating clear and dark colors.
