Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketWoman Applying Makeup (L)(Yuyudo)Size: 55.0cm by 39.0cm (21.65 in by 15.35 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [XL] ? Designer: Hashiguchi Goyo Era: Post-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This is the Yuyudo version of the famous Goyo design (the Tanseisha Company also made one of these). It was produced in the 1980s: the carver was Maeda Kentaro, and the printer was Sato Ritsuzo. It is a very 'luxe' edition, with a beautiful pale grey mica background, and very delicate carving of all the hair. There are two different sizes for this design and this is the large one. (A number of people who see this in our shop ask about the apparent discrepancy between the date of this print, and the introduction of portable phones ... There is no discrepancy, as the item she is holding is ... a mirror.) There are slight baren-suji on the background of this print. A smaller version of this design (published by Yuyudo and Tanseisha) is sometimes available here in our catalogue. This photo will help you understand the actual size of this particular print.
