Designer: Ando Hiroshige Era: Post-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This is a full set of prints of what is perhaps the single most famous series of Japanese woodblock prints ever produced - "The 53 Stations of the Tokaido", designed by Hiroshige in the 1830s. The set you see here is a reproduction version produced in the post-war period by Yuyudo. The print size is a little smaller than the original. Each print is slightly glued to a mat holder and they are set in a nice wooden case. Also, it comes with a pamphlet in Japanese. The dimension displayed is the print image size and the outer box is approximately 34.5 x 46.5 x 9cm. Special Shipping Notice This set is large, weighing in at 6 kg (approx. 13.2 lbs), and cannot be shipped at the ‘economy’ level in our shopping cart, so we have priced it to include shipping at the EMS express level (including insurance) to most common destinations (North America, Europe, Asia). The overall print and package condition are good, but there are slight foxing spots on some of the prints and on the mat folders. Also, there are some scribbles on the mat folder and on the catalog of this set. It comes with a title page, a forward page, an index page, and a catalog (all in Japanese): A pair of prints are set in a paper holder: The colophon and the map of the catalog: Here are examples of prints: Nihonbashi, Totsuka, Hakone, Mishima, there is a small foxing spot on the left side of the mat folder, Kanbara, Ejiri, Okabe, Fujikawa, there is a small chiri (mulberry bark scraps) at the top left of this print, Miya, and Shono. Each print is lightly glued to the mat holder. It's torn just on this print, Sakanoshia's folder.
