Designer: Ando Hiroshige Era: Post-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price:  Description: This is a full set of prints of what is perhaps the single most famous series of Japanese woodblock prints ever produced - "The 53 Stations of the Tokaido", designed by Hiroshige in the 1830s. The set you see here is a reproduction version produced in the post-war period by a media company, Houdou Shuppansha. It's a bulky yet gorgeous set; each print is in a mat holder and contained in a luxe cloth-bound case. It includes with a pamphlet in Japanese and a matching wooden frame (acrylic, not glass) (Let us know if you don't want the frame). The dimension displayed is the print image size and the outer case size is approximately 53.5 x 40 x 6 cm. The Tokaido prints were featured in a pair of 'David's Choice' YouTube videos in October of 2020.

So we have set the price to include sea freight to any common destination. We can quote an air freight supplement if you wish it shipped that way. All of the prints are in good condition. Note: Arai in the original set had foxing spots, so we have replaced a clean version of the print from the same publisher. The metal parts on the backside of the frame are a little stained. This set is numbered 152, of what was purported be an edition of 300 copies. The set is in cardboard surrounded by styrofoam for security.  It comes with a pamphlet in Japanese.  Each print is lightly tipped into a paper mat except Arai. Just that print is loose because we have replaced a clean version of the print from a different set.  The colophon attached to the case - this set is numbered 152.  The wooden frame with an acrylic board is set in a cardboard case.  The metal parts on the backside of the frame are a little stained.  The index page and ...  ... the forward page in Japanese.  Here are some examples of the prints: Hakone,  Kanbara,  Mariko,  and Shono.
