Description: This painting is part of Hiroshige's series, Omoteura Ekiji Hakkei (Eight Landscapes on the Front Postal Road). It beautifully depicts a cold snowscape of travelers passing through the lake by the Hakone Mountains. You may even feel the cold wind from the picture, which makes it perfect for a fan used to keep cool in summer.

This version is from a set that consists of 24 works created by Hiroshige and reproduced by Takamizawa during the post-war period. They carefully selected the best prints from various series and reproduced them in a slightly smaller size than the originals.

This particular edition was produced by Takamizawa Company in the 1970s.
