Description: There were several editions of 東都名所, Famous Places in Eastern Tokyo, but this series including this print is a set of 10 printings. This particular print is the most popular design among the series.

Fireworks started in Edo in the mid-1650s and became the most popular summer spectacle, set off mainly from Ryogoku Bridge. This print is well depicted showing the people's excitement with a variety of elements - packed people on the bridge looking up the firework, boats on the river, a stall on the riverbank, etc.

This version is from a set that consists of 24 works created by Hiroshige and reproduced by Takamizawa during the post-war period. They carefully selected the best prints from various series and reproduced them in a slightly smaller size than the originals.

This particular edition was produced by Takamizawa Company in the 1970s which is a little smaller than the original.

There are a few marks on the margin of this print.
