Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketWoman Applying Makeup (Tanseisha)Size: 48.0cm by 35.0cm (18.90 in by 13.78 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [XL] ? Designer: Hashiguchi Goyo Era: Post-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This is the Tanseisha version of the famous Goyo design (the Yuyudo Company also made one of these). It was produced in the 1980s: the carver was Uesugi Tadao, and the printer Sasaki Shigeru. It is a very 'luxe' edition, with a beautiful pale grey mica background, and very delicate carving of all the hair. (A number of people who see this in our shop ask about the apparent discrepancy between the date of this print, and the introduction of portable phones ... There is no discrepancy, as the item she is holding is ... a mirror.) The print is in very good condition. A substantially larger version of this design (published by Yuyudo) is sometimes available here in our catalogue. This photo will help you understand the actual size of this particular print.
