The collection "Meiji no Onna" (Women of Meiji) was published in 1977 by Soudosha, and most of the designs were being reproduced for the first time. This picture, depicting a young woman scared by thunder, was originally made for a kuchi-e (book illustration). It captures the emotional moment in an elegant way.
