Designer: Kaburagi Kiyokata Era: Late Showa | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This print is from a collection of woodblock prints of beautiful women from the Meiji period by a number of leading designers of the day, including Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, Ogata Gekko, and Kaburagi Kiyokata. The collection "Meiji no Onna" (Women of Meiji) was published in 1977 by Soudosha, and most of the designs were being reproduced for the first time. It depicts a woman in kimono probably at the new year, with plum blossoms and a pine tree in the background. The bokashi shading on her hair is carefully executed.
