Description: This book is from the series, 釈迦八相倭文庫, Shaka Hasso Bunko, made up of 58 volumes, written by Mantei Ouga, with illustrations by Utagawa Toyokuni II and Seisei Kyosai. It was published between 1845 and 1871.

The series represents an adaptation of the eight phases of Buddha's life into a simple text. The cover is beautifully colored, and the inside pages are filled with text in the margins of ink drawings.

This is the two parts of vol. 27, sewn together into a single book.

The book is over 150 years old, and shows its age in the wormholes, soiling, and creases.
