Description: This print is a reproduction of a Hokusai scroll painting, showing a woman reading a book. The original included a hototogisu (a small cuckoo), along with a poem, but it seems Takamizawa company trimmed those when they published their version of the design.

The woman is tilting her head presumably because she wants to listen to the sound of the bird song.

The small mark at the bottom right corner is residue from the printing process (one of the registration marks).
